Description:

Hi! My name is Boo Bear and I’m a pretty buff guy, if I do say so myself. I have the firm body and gruff good looks of a street-wise tomcat, which I was. I also have to admit that I’m one of the biggest love-bugs in the shelter. When I’m not sleeping - which is long and often, as napping is an art form for me - I will exert all my considerable charm to get chin and head rubs and body massages. My ultimate goal, though, is your lap, where I can get both the hands-on attention and a premier napping spot.

The hospital tells me that I also brought the feline immunodeficiency virus (FIV) with me from the streets. I probably picked this up from deep bite wounds when fighting (that’s what toms do when let out to roam). The virus, which cannot be passed to people or dogs, compromises the immune system, but with good health maintenance and a low-stress home, the hospital says we FIV+ cats can live rich, long lives. Yay! FIV+ cats like me must go to a home alone or with another FIV+ cat, though a mellow, unaggressive non-infected cat is also okay. (Here at the shelter, I live amicably with another FIV+ kitty). They tell me that CAT will provide a year of free health care to help me and other FIV+ kitties get a start in their new forever homes.

The main thing I want from my adopter is affection, laps, and a warm comfy napping spot. For this I will provide you my own sweet flavor of “tough” love.
