Hi! My name is Briggs. I may be built like a linebacker—stubby, wide, 80 pounds of muscle and fur but the only way I know how to sack you is with kisses. I think they sometimes call me the ‘Happy Hippo’. I don’t know for sure because my previous owners weren’t very kind to my ears, they hurt a lot and I didn’t hear very well. I underwent surgery to get rid of the pain and now I’m officially deaf. What? Did you say something? I feel SO much better now and I am learning sign language. It’s fun! Do you want to learn with me?

I wasn’t in the best of shape when I came to Wagging Dog Rescue but now I’m as handsome as can be, with a big beautiful smile to match my head and I’m so well-behaved. I’m going to share a secret, don’t tell the other dogs, but my foster mom says I’m her favorite of ALL time. I think it’s because I get along great with dogs of all sizes, really enjoy playtime with my friends, love belly rubs, and for some reason when I wag my tail my whole body joins in on the fun.

I’m hoping to find my forever family soon. I LOVE people so much that I need parents who are willing to set boundaries so I know what is expected of me. Not just when you first meet me, I need leadership to be the best me possible. I’m not a fan of cats and although I’d love to live with a doggie sibling it’s not necessary.
