**Fostered in Baltimore, MD 21201**

Hello there! My name is Hillary and I am a kind and reserved young girl who prides herself on being a doting doggy sister - but am still acclimating to people. I am a Pocket Pyr, so I have all the beloved Great Pyrenees traits - gentleness, protectiveness, and lovingness - just in a smaller (and in my biased opinion, cuter) package. When I was a puppy, my biological sister and I were dumped on someone’s property and left to fend for ourselves in the woods. Thankfully, the property owner called animal rescue, and I was saved! However, my sister, wary of humans like myself, evaded capture and was run over by a car. I miss her dearly and, now in a home with a family, I find comfort in the company of my Pyr foster brother Luca, who I am absolutely smitten with. I love frolicking with him as I adjust to domesticated life.

In many ways, I am your average, happy and playful young dog. However, having not grown up around humans, I find that learning to trust is a journey. So far, everyone has been very nice to me, and I have gained enough confidence to take just one treat from someone’s hand. I am also completely housebroken and crate trained, but am still petrified of leashes, making it impossible to take me on walks, errands, or to the vet. I am experimenting with how it feels to stand near my foster mommy and though I like her presence, I usually run away if she gets too close. All things are a work in progress, but you can see in my soulful eyes that I am a peaceful girl who, deep down, wants to please.

Given my history, I would do best in a home without kids (as, to me, they are the scariest of all), and need a forever family who is committed to my socialization. I also wouldn’t mind a fun-loving, good-natured doggy sibling to bond with. I have a long way to go in feeling comfortable around people, but with the help of a patient, supportive, realistic, and savvy parent, I know - from experience - that I will overcome. I am excited for the next chapter with you by my side, and will reciprocate your love times two, in true Pyr fashion!
