Do you believe in miracles? I sure do!! My name is Moose and, now that I’m here with my friends at Highland Lakes SPCA, I know that miracles can happen. I was in a very small shelter for two months and I was sick. When HLSPCA pulled me out of there and took me to the vet, they said that I had ehrlichiosis. That comes from ticks, and it made me very tired and very sad. But, once I got the right medication my body and my mind popped back to life!! If they hadn’t pulled me out of there, who knows what would have happened.

I love being at this shelter, but I’m still nervous and scared about being abandoned again, so I bark a lot to let people know that they should come back and see me. My brain just doesn’t know how to shut that off quite yet. I was also mistreated in my previous life, so I cower a little bit when someone approaches me quickly. Still, I’m trying my very best every single day to get better and show that I would be a great addition to a loving family!

All I need is for someone to give me a chance. I like to go for walks and I love snuggling with my human friends. Right now I’m still a little too anxious and nervous to be in direct contact with other dogs, but with time and some patience I could learn to trust my furry friends.
