Description:

Hello, my name is Ramona, and I’m a quiet senior kitty, with a striking tabby-and-white coat and soft, flowing locks. I’m slim and active and look younger than my actual years, if I do say so myself! However, I like the quiet life, as befits someone my age. You’ll find that I love just hanging out next to you while you work on the computer or read or watch a movie, and I like to doze by the window or in a warm patch of sun. I do like gentle attention, too, chin and head scratches and the like, but not too much of it. My age shows through here, because I can get cranky from too much attention, or being restrained, or when I’m just not feeling well.

Yes, I do have medical issues, a low grade heart murmur and early stage renal disease. The heart condition doesn’t need treatment at this point, and the hospital is still investigating my renal function, though a special diet is helping. I’ve had dental issues, too, and occasional eating issues. Some of the problems may be age-related but some may have resulted from what happened during a rough period in my time as a stray - I was poisoned with an insecticide. Very luckily, a Good Samaritan found me and brought me to the DoveLewis Emergency Animal Hospital. With their care, I was able to recover, and move on to Cat Adoption Team.

I’ve been looking for my own forever home for some time now. While I may not become a cuddly lap cat, I will love hanging out with you, whatever you’re doing. You will need to understand that I am an independent senior kitty from a rough background, and that I will be cranky and even growly, if I’m not feeling well or am given too much attention, or occasionally for no reason at all. I will need an understanding adult household, or one with respectful older children. Also, I really can’t tolerate other cats! Still, I’m a calm, tidy lady, I provide great company, and I will be your faithful companion for many years. And everyone agrees, I’m just about the prettiest thing around!
