Hi! I’m Ukiah. I have a sensitive spirit and love attention. Pet me, and I will hum contentedly. Entice me with a wand toy, and I will play enthusiastically. Both are especially good for me, as I have become a bit solitary curled up in my basket and need to be urged to exercise and reminded that I am loved.

You might notice my furry tail is a little scruffy. When I worry over a sudden change in my environment, such as the move I recently made, I groom excessively and pull out pieces of my fur. I am told all cats groom to calm themselves in times of stress or anxiety, I just take this relaxation technique too far. When this happens, offer me toys to distract me from my worries and spend time playing with me to tire me out. Good news is that once the changes in my environment settle down, I adjust, recover quickly (especially with lots of love), and no longer need to calm myself in this manner.

I am told I am an absolute dear. Did I tell you I love treats? A treat will make you my favorite person! I strayed to a Good Samaritan’s house with a badly gashed leg, so I dream of a quiet, secure forever home, where I do not have to make another big, scary change. I am a fun, tender soul.
