Well hello! I’m Winkie, and I recently moved to Oregon from California. I have to say I really like it in Oregon, the only thing that would make me complete is if I had that one special home to call my own.

The humans tell me that I am a Dachshund mix of some type, however, I am a little bigger and I weigh in right around 20 lbs. I’m an active guy in my kennel, and I have a tendency to bounce from one side to the other. I can be a little shy when I first meet people, and…let’s get right to it, I have a skin issue. The shelter humans have been working to make me better, I eat a special diet of grain free food and that seems to help my patches of hair come back a little better. There are times I get better and then I get worse, nobody has really been able to explain it yet. Can you imagine how frustrating that is for me?!

With new faces, I will greet them at the front of my kennel, but when they come into my kennel I can be a little stand offish at first. When I’m given a few minutes I settle in and do great. I really like bigger sized dogs, I loved spending time with my friend Bear, but his forever family came and got him. I like to play ball in my kennel, and would like a family that would take me for walks and play with me, and most of all a family that would love me for who I am.
