Who is Core Paws and what do they do?
Core Paws is a 501(c)(3) non-profit dedicated to helping homeless animals deemed “hard-to-place.” These animals tend to be overlooked in existing rescues and shelters today, so our main focus is to bring them front and center to the public. We partner with existing 501(c)(3) non-profit animal rescues and shelters to help market their animals on our website.
Our Core Paws team is made up mainly of digital and traditional marketing professionals who are using their corporate advertising skills to create an online hub and digital marketing campaign to centralize the search for hard- to-place homeless animals.
What is a “hard-to-place” animal?
The animals we showcase on our website fall under one or more of these categories: special need, behavioral issue, senior animal, second and third chance, and animals in rescues and shelters currently over capacity.
These animals tend to stay in rescues and shelters longer than other animals not falling under one of the above categories. We may make exceptions on a case-by-case basis.
What makes Core Paws different than other rescues?
Core Paws was created solely to fill the unmet need of helping a variety of hard-to-place homeless animals. We don't have a physical location. Instead, we partner with existing rescues and shelters to showcase their hardest cases in one area, our Core Paws website.
This way, potential adopters can see many different hard-to-place animals in their area, many at rescues and shelters they may have never heard of otherwise.
Another reason why we are a little different, is because our entire internal team is comprised animal-loving marketing professionals in areas such as creative direction, branding, digital design, print design, account management, digital production, front end web development, user experience, search engine optimization, analytics, and more.
Having a team of digital marketing experts allows Core Paws to maximize its efforts in saving furry lives!
How does Core Paws decide which animal rescues and shelters to affiliate with?
Core Paws takes affiliating with a non-profit animal rescue or shelter very seriously. After a 501(c)(3) non-profit contacts us to affiliate, our Board of Directors researches the shelter, its mission and cause, and collectively makes a decision about whether we can help!
I represent a 501(c)(3) non-profit animal rescue or shelter and I am interested in affiliating, what is the process for affiliating?
Officers or Board Members of a 501(c)(3) animal rescue or shelter are welcome to send us an e-mail to info@corepaws.com to explain your rescue/mission and your interest in affiliating with Core Paws. We get many submissions and we will work our hardest to get back to you as soon as we can! Once a rescue or shelter is chosen to affiliate, it is a free of charge affiliation for our services. The shelter will meet either in person or over the phone with one or multiple board members from Core Paws, and will be sent an affiliation contract.
Please note, with our initial website launch- we will only be affiliating with Oregon based shelters. Shortly thereafter, we will begin to expand into the surrounding states. Our overall future goal is to be nationwide!
How can I get involved?
Core Paws would love your help in spreading the word about our mission and website. Follow us on Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter. Word of mouth advertising is one of the most powerful ways you can help these hard-to-place animals!
Please feel free to e-mail Core Paws directly with any interest in helping our cause. You can also visit any of our affiliated rescues or shelters to see how to get involved. They are always looking for volunteers and foster help for their animals.
